ADL Austin is honoring Laura and Morris Gottesman with the Torch of Liberty Award November 17th at the 2021 ADL Golden Door Awards Dinner. The Torch of Liberty Award is given annually to members of the Austin community who exemplify our shared values of creating and celebrating diversity and respect throughout the community.

The Golden Door Awards Dinner is ADL Austin’s annual event. It is a very special evening that unites members from across Austin’s diverse community to celebrate ADL’s 108 years of fighting to uphold the highest ideals of our country and securing justice and fair treatment for all. This year’s Golden Door Dinner is being chaired by Jennifer and Brad Greenblum and Marjorie Clifton and David Lack, who are leading extensive Host and Steering Committees.

“We are so excited that we are getting the chance to honor Laura and Morris,” said co-chair Jennifer Greenblum. “They are so deserving for all they do for the Austin and broader community. So many from so many parts of Austin know and love them.”

“I am so impressed with Morris and Laura for their leadership of and commitment to the Austin community,” explained Renee Lafair, ADL Austin Regional Director. “Morris knows ADL issues and is a true believer in and ambassador for our work. Both Laura and Morris are business and civic leaders. I am so excited that we get to honor them.”

As Founder and CEO of Gottesman Residential Real Estate, Laura has become one of the most sought-after, trusted, and experienced relators in Austin. She also serves on the Greater Austin Economic Development Board and on the executive advisory board for Go Red for Women. Morris is a Senior Managing Director at U.S. Capital Advisors and currently serves on the ADL Austin Executive Board. He has previously served as President of the Seton Forum, Chairman of the Children’s Hospital Foundation, Treasurer of the Dell Children’s Medical Foundation Board, and Big Brother Big Sisters of Austin among other things. He has received the LBJ Humanitarian award from Shalom Austin and the Nyle Maxwell award from Children’s Hospital. The Gottesman’s have also been honored by HeartGift of Austin for their efforts in the growth of their mission.
