Mask and Safety Policy

Effective Tuesday, March 1, 2022

The COVID levels in Austin-Travis County have recently been downgraded. After guidance from local health officials and an infectious disease specialist, the Shalom Austin Jewish Community Center has made the following changes to our mask policy:

Masks are now optional indoors and outdoors at the JCC. You are of course always welcome to wear a mask if you prefer, and we will continue to have them available at the Welcome Desk. 

Safety Reminders

Thank you for remaining considerate when making decisions that may impact the health and safety of others. Please monitor your own health and stay home if you are not feeling well, and wear a mask if you are immunocompromised. We recommend you do not attend Shalom Austin events in person if you are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or immune-compromised.

We continue to evaluate and make changes to our COVID health protocols as warranted by local conditions and medical guidance. Further changes will be communicated.  

For mask policies of the Early Childhood Program and programs involving children, please refer the their handbooks and stated COVID protocols.

Health Screening

Temperature checks are no longer required.

If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or otherwise feel unwell, we ask that you please stay home.

Other Safety Protocols

SANITIZING STANDARDS

After using equipment, members are asked to clean it with disinfectant wipes provided by the JCC. Staff will clean throughout the day, including a 30-minute deep cleaning once a day at 2 PM.  

ADULTS & CHILDREN

We maintain programmatic boundaries between children and adults to limit the exposure to unvaccinated children.

LIMITED OCCUPANCY

Each room has a clearly marked occupancy maximum to help ensure social distancing.

How can I access the Dell Jewish Community Campus?

At this time, JCC members can use the facilities by reservation only. To join the JCC, click here. For current members, please click here to make a reservation.

Can I bring a guest?

Due to the pandemic, the Sports & Fitness Complex and programs are open to active members only. If you know someone who would like to join,  click here.

Can I use the locker room and other amenities?

During construction, members will have access to the restrooms in the community hallway.

Towel service, ball checkout, and locks are temporarily suspended. Please bring your own towels and equipment. Leave bulky bags in your car or at home. We will have small cubbies available for personal items like keys or small purses.  

What are my childcare options?
